As commodity prices continue to fluctuate, growers are planting more soybean than ever before. It makes sense. The prospective net return per acre for beans is the best it’s been in decades. However, the often overlooked component to profitability is adequate K. Soybeans not only remove more potassium from the soil than corn, removal rates have increased due to improved yields. That means the traditional K-rate growers have been applying to their rotations isn’t cutting it anymore.
