Amanda Mitchell, Ph.D. Student, University of Guelph
Amanda Mitchell grew up on a grain farm in southwestern Saskatchewan and is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Guelph studying the role of nitrogen management practices on winter wheat – microbial relationships for improved nitrogen use efficiency. She received her bachelor’s degree in agronomy (’21) and master’s degree (’24) in soil science from the University of Saskatchewan where her master’s thesis explored microbial driven carbon cycling and carbon persistence in erosion buried soils.
