Alan Blaylock, Ph.D.

Micronutrients are essential plant nutrients needed in small quantities. Many soils contain adequate amounts of micronutrients, and additional micronutrient fertilizers are not necessary.  Responses to micronutrient application may be dramatic if the nutrient is deficient, but often, responses are incremental yield increases, maturity or quality improvements resulting from better nutrient balance. Micronutrient chemistry in the soil is complex, and there are numerous interactions with other nutrients and environmental conditions. This webinar with Nutrien Senior Agronomist Dr. Alan Blaylock discusses some of these interactions and how they can be used to make better micronutrient decisions.
