National Testing Lab Finds More Soils Testing “Low” or “Very Low” for Potassium
On a yearly basis, Rock River Laboratory analyzes hundreds of thousands of soil samples from 22 states around the country. The one major trend that jumps out in the lab’s analyses is a significant decline in nationwide soil test potassium. In the last five years alone, the number of samples testing “Very Low” for potassium has dramatically increased – as much as 8% in some states. Lab Director Dustin Sawyer provides insight into what he’s been seeing and the financial implications to growers if declining K trends continue.
